Serving up support for the Ronald McDonald House

Principals and teachers from Wilkes County schools served up burgers and fries at Washington’s McDonald’s Thursday night, raising hundreds of dollars for the Augusta Ronald McDonald House. The house serves as a home to parents whose children are hospitalized in one of Augusta’s hospitals. Wilkes County school superintendent Joyce Williams wisely stayed out front and helped keep the lobby clean, saying, “You won’t get me on one of those cash registers. That’s hard — I don’t see how our kids do it.”
