Washington Personal Mention

Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Hunter were Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter, Sarah Grace and Tyler, of Statesboro. Mrs. Cecil Hunter joined the family on Saturday evening for dinner at the Red Lobster in Augusta in celebration of John Hunter and Mrs. Cecil Hunter's birthdays.

Mr. and Mrs. Randall Pettus of Buford visited Saturday and Sunday with Mrs. Sam Bonner. They were in Washington to attend a 90th birthday celebration honoring Mrs. Mary Boldin at Watchmaker's Saturday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Austin Grimes of Memphis, Ind., enjoyed several days visit with Rev. and Mrs. Chris Townsend, Garston and Henry.

Mrs. Dennis D'Avila of Fort Worth, Tex., enjoyed a visit with her grandmother and her guests, Rev. and Mrs. Jim Newsome of Vero Beach, Fla., who are spending this week in Washington. Jenna Newsome visited over the weekend. She was en route home to Floyd, Va., after spending three months in New Orleans as a volunteer to help with the Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts.

Mr. and Mrs. Michael Swantner, Matthew, Emily and Daniel, and Matthew's friend, Bess Collins, of Corpus Christi, Tex., and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin McAvoy were guests of Mrs. George Norman and Anna Norman at the Washington Jockey Club on March 15. Visiting the following Saturday with Mrs. Norman and Anna Norman were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Norman, Kaitlin and Kindler, of Grayson.

Mr. and Mrs. Norris Ware were in Athens Saturday to watch their grandson, Brandon Ware, a student at Westminster Christian Academy, play baseball against Athens Christian School.

John Singleton III of Atlanta visited over the weekend with his mother, Mrs. John Singleton Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. David McClearen were in New Orleans, La., March 17 and 18 to attend festivities surrounding the marriage of his niece, Monique Fayard, and Jeff Serpas. They attended the rehearsal dinner on Friday evening at the Plumsoll Club in the World Trade Center, the wedding Saturday evening at the Immaculate Conception Church, and the reception in the Riverview Room in the Jackson Brewery.
