Tigers pose at annual picture day as season approaches

It may have been the earliest picture day on record when the Washington-Wilkes Tigers suited up for local photographer Mercer Harris on Tuesday, August 1. There was little doubt that the heat was record-setting as well all the way through to early evening when the event finally concluded. With only one day of mandatory practice under their belts, Tigers and coaches smiled and posed with practically no idea of how the final roster or lineups are going to shape up. The team kicks off with a jamboree scrimmage against Elbert County on August 25 and the regular season opens the following Friday night at home against Warren County.
