Christine Moore Hopkins

Funeral services for Christine Moore Hopkins, 92, of Palmetto, formerly of Washington, will be held Thursday, August 28, 2008, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church, Washington, with Rev. Albert W. Huyck Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. She died Monday, August 25, in Piedmont Hospital, Fayetteville.

Mrs. Hopkins was a native of Taliaferro County and the daughter of the late Samuel Jackson Moore and Florence Edwards Moore. She was a retired school teacher and the widow of Orlando W. Hopkins. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Washington.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Sam Moore and Elaine Hopkins, McDonough; a daughter and her husband, Sue Hopkins and Bill Cofer, of Brunswick; a sister, Evelyn M. Pierce, Crawfordville; three grandchildren, Kimberly H. Bowler, Julie H. Garcia, and Chet W. Cofer; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include Rodney Bowler, Chet Cofer, Bill Hopkins Jr., Deric Garcia, Ralph Hopkins, and Randy Young.

The family will receive friends in the Mary Callaway Burton Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church Thursday at 10 a.m. until service time.
