Tiger Club will host fund-raising dinner to 'meet and greet' Hutto; other April events also announced

Two important meetings with new Washington-Wilkes Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Lee Hutto are on the slate for next month and Tiger athletes will also have a chance to get their physical examinations for next year free of charge.

Hutto has also announced that the Tiger football team will attend the University of Georgia Bulldogs spring football game in Athens on April 11.

On Thursday, April 23, the WWCHS will host a community-wide "meet and greet" with Hutto beginning at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria. The fund-raising event sponsored by the Tiger Club will offer barbecue plates for sale at a cost of $8 each. Tickets can be purchased from football players and coaches.

Then, the following Thursday, April 30, also in the cafeteria at 7 p.m., Hutto will meet with the parents of any athlete playing football for the 2009 season.

Athlete physicals will be given to male athletes for W-WCHS and W-WMS in the lobby of the high school beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13.

Physicals for female athletes at W-WCHS and W-WMS will be given in the high school lobby on Mon., April 20, also at 3:30 p.m.

At the end of the month, on April 27, football equipment will be issued, beginning after school, to all rising juniors and seniors participating in spring practice. Equipment will be issued to rising freshmen and sophomores on April 28.
