Quincy Leon Cullars

Funeral services for Quincy Leon Cullars, 35, of 193 Aonia Road, Washington, were held Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Lacy and Rev. Robert Walton officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Saturday, May 9, in the University Hospital, Augusta.

Mr. Cullars was a native of Wilkes County and the son of Betty Jean Cullars and James L. Garnett. He was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon, faithfully serving the church until his death. He had worked as a truck driver since 1992 and became owner and operator of QTQ Trucking Inc. in February 2009.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife, Petrina L. Cullars of Washington; three children, Quintavian, Triyanna, and Quentin, all of Washington; his grandmother, Lily Pink Cullars of Washington; four brothers, Tom Garnett, Augusta, Curtis Garnett and Tim Garnett, both of Thomson, and Sean Garnett of Dearing; two sisters, Darlene Garnett of Dearing, and Robin Beard of Atlanta.

Pallbearers included Roy Brittain, Anthony Brown, Samuel Danies, Marvin Gaye, Charles Morgan, Eddie Norman, Patrick Norman, Melvin Towns, and Clarence Watts. Members of the W-WCHS Class of 1991 served as honorary pallbearers.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
