FBC Senior Choir gathers at Burton home December 20

The Senior Choir of First Baptist Church gathered at the home of Allen and Patricia Burton on Sunday evening, December 20, following the presentation of “I Hear the Prophet Callin’.”

The Burton home was welcoming with holiday decorations and beautifully decorated tree in the living room.

Everyone brought favorite holiday goodies for a bountiful buffet enjoyed with punch and coffee.

During the evening Tom Wells, on behalf of the choir, made presentations to Mrs. Burton, director; Jane Newsome, organist, and Paulette George, pianist. Mrs. Burton also made a special presentation on behalf of the choir to members of the accompanying ensemble that included Timothy Kelley of Appling, Dr. Stan Coe, Ian and Genevieve Coe.

Also during the evening many gathered around the piano for a wonderful time of celebrating music that included many holiday carols and songs, selections from theater musicals as well as other favorites. Mrs. George accompanied the group on the piano and Timothy, his sisters, Bethany and Victoria Kelley, and Dr. Coe, entertained on the strings.

About 60 choir members and guests attended. Special guests included the family of violinist, Timothy Kelley, and the Burtons’ daughter and grandchildren, Julie Arora, Karthik and Davika, of Evans.
