Lunch and Learn hears about PAD


Dr. Lester Johnston spoke to the Wills Memorial Hospital Lunch & Learn event last Wednesday on the subject of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). PAD, he said, is the narrowing of the arteries, most commonly the arteries of the pelvis and legs. People who smoke, have high blood pressure, or who have high cholesterol are at high risk for PAD, but most cases can be managed with lifestyle changes and medication. Dr. Johnston, board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine, practices medicine at Wills Memorial/ Community Medical Associates.
