Washington-Wilkes Tiger athletics and the Tiger Club have kicked off a month-long campaign to jump start and benefit all W-WCHS athletes for the coming 2011-2012 school year and many years beyond.

The campaign is continuing through Saturday, June 25 and is enlisting corporate sponsors at various levels from a “Bronze Club” membership at $250 up to a “Platinum Club” membership at $1500 for the year. Home run signs are also individually available for softball and baseball.

As an incentive, the W-W Athletic Department promises not to solicit again from its club members until the 2012-2013 school year.

Head Coach and Athletic Director Robby Robinson and Tiger Club President Milton Roberts are heading up the fundraising effort as outlined in the benefits list printed at left.

With sales already progressing well, Robinson pointed out that there are only 12 Platinum Club memberships available because of the space allotted on the three scoreboards of Tiger athletics. Each platinum membership includes a professionally designed and painted advertisement on one of the Coca Cola scoreboards.

There are three 3x3-foot panels on both the girls softball scoreboard and the baseball scoreboard. There are six on the football scoreboard in Tiger Stadium.

Robinson also pointed out that because of Coca Cola’s scoreboard maintenance policy, platinum memberships will require a two-year commitment.

He also said that the homr run signs for the softball and baseball fields will be 4x8-foot vinyl signs mounted along the fence line.
