The Episcopal Church of the Mediator, 214 E. Robert Toombs Avenue, Washington, will hold its traditional pancake supper at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21 (Shrove Tuesday, the evening before Ash Wednesday.) The supper will be in the Parish Hall, immediately behind the Church. The public is invited and welcome. No fee will be charged but donations will be accepted and appreciated. l

New Sutton Temple Baptist Church will have a plate/what-not sale February 20, 21, 8 a.m.

The annual Doris Booker Black History Program will be held Sunday, February 19, 3 p.m., at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Baltimore Road, Washington.

The Wills Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in conjunction with Shepeard Community Blood Center will conduct blood drives in Wilkes County on Thursday, February 16. Blood donations will be received at Wills Memorial Hospital, 120 Gordon Street, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and at the First United Methodist Church, 102 W. Liberty Street, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The movie “Courageous” will be shown at Tignall Baptist Church Saturday, February 25. Anyone who wants to come at 6 p.m. and bring finger foods is welcome. The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m.

New Sutton Temple Baptist Church will have a pre-pastoral anniversary celebration February 20-24, 7:30 p.m., with a different speaker every night. The celebration will end Sunday, February 26, at 3 p.m.

Trinity Baptist Church located at the end of Broad Road in Tignall will be having its black history program Sunday, February 26, at 11 a.m.

Pauline Chapel F.B.H Church will have its annual missionary program on Sunday, March 5, 3 p.m. with Pastor Peggy Zellars, of Solomon Pool of Lincolnton as the speaker.

Pole Branch Baptist Church, Tignall, will host a women’s conference Saturday, March 4, 10 a.m. to noon. The speakers will be Cassandra J. Dobbs of the Overcomers Christian Center in Villa Rica, and evangelist Annie Laura Westfield of the Eternal Life Harvest Center, Knoxville, Tenn.

The Pole Branch Young Adult Choir will celebrate the annual choir anniversary Sunday, February 19, 3 p.m.

Washington-Wilkes Primary School will hold Kindergarten registration for five year old children on Monday-Friday, March 5-9, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the school. Any Wilkes County child who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2012, is eligible to attend. All required documents must be on file with the school before school begins in August. The Bethlehem Baptist Church will celebrate the pastor’s 12th anniversary Sunday, March 18, 11:30 a.m. Rev. Kenneth Hannah and the Shiloh Baptist Church of Warrenton will be in charge of the service.

Brinkley’s Chapel Baptist Church will celebrate the youth anniversary at 2 p.m. on March 11. Rev. R.C. Lockhart and the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church will be in charge of the service.
