The Washington-Wilkes Christmas Parade of Lights is set for Saturday, December 8, at 6 p.m. and is seeking participants and sponsors. Applications are available at the W-W Welcome Center or from committee members. Float entry forms are available at the W-W Parks and Recreation office. Call 706-678-1445 for details.

The Iris Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, November 13, at 10 a.m. at the W-W Primary School outdoor classroom.

The annual Rotary Pancake Supper will be held Friday, November 9, 5-7:30 p.m., at the W-W Elementary School Cafeteria. Tickets are $7 and are available from members or at the door.

The piano students of Ruth Harris will present their annual recital at Callaway Plantation on Sunday, December 16, from 2-4 p.m. An opportunity for a last look at Christmas decorations will be available during the performances. There is no admission fee.

The Callaway Plantation Christmas Candlelight Tour will be held on Friday, December 7, from 4-9 p.m. and the regular Christmas Tour will be held on Saturday, December 8, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission included in W-W Historical Foundation Christmas Tour ticket price, or $5.00 separately.

Ebenezer Baptist Church will celebrate its 225th anniversary on Sunday, November 18, with “High Attendance Sunday School” beginning at 9:45 a.m. and the worship service at 11 a.m. followed by a covered dish lunch (meat provided).

The second annual Turkey Shoot sponsored by T.J. and Friends Cancer Foundation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, at the Elbert County Gun Club in Elberton. There will be a concession stand and all proceeds will benefit cancer patients in the seven-county area.

The Washington Chapter of OLLI@UGA will host the third session of its series on the proposed Kettle Creek Battlefield Park at the Church of the Mediator Parish House from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, November 16. Clay Ouzts, professor of history at Gainesville College, will be the speaker.
