Thelma Kendrick

Funeral services for Thelma Kendrick were held Saturday, February 16, at New Salem Baptist Church with Rev. R.L. Reynolds presiding and Evangelist Mary Robbins eulogist. The interment was in the City West cemetery. She died Thursday, February 7.

Ms. Kendrick was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Will and Gladys Nicholas Kendrick.

Survivors include three brothers: James Kendrick and his wife Clarine of Rayle, Robert Kendrick and Hattie Callaway of Washington, and Luther Kendrick and his wife Bernice of Jacksonville, Florida; special sisterin law Gertrude Kendrick of Washington; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two special nieces: Dolores Hardeman and her husband Demetrius and Kimberly Kendrick; four children whom she raised as her own: Anna Norman Heaton, Ed Norman, Henry Norman, and Roy Norman; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Her nephews served as pallbearers. McLendon Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
