Echols is third four-time winner

Graham Echols has joined an elite group of golfers by winning the Washington Wilkes Country Club’s annual Amos Martin Invitational for the fourth time. Shooting 74 on both days of the contest, Echols finished at four over to claim the winner’s trophy for the fourth time in just five years. In the tournament’s 88-year history, only Echols, Bobby Jones, and Billy Craycraft have won four times. Weather may have been a factor in the tournament according to organizer Hugh Hopkins. “I think the scores were higher this year due to heavy rain just before the weekend,” he said.
