Woman’s Club members enjoy program of Christmas carols

The Washington Woman’s Club enjoyed a program of Christmas music at the meeting Monday, December 14, at the clubhouse.

The program was presented by vocalists, Alicia Madden, Seth Cox, and Hunter Cox, accompanied by Judy Coxwell at the piano. Everyone sang Christmas songs, “Joy to the World,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Silent Night,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and “Joy to the World.” Alicia, Seth, and Hunter read from Luke 2 and then sang “All is Well.” Seth Cox also sang “Labor of Love.”

Prior to the program Bunny Gunby offered a devotional from Max Lucado and everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

A delicious luncheon of ham, sweet potato casserole, green beans, salad, rolls, and coconut cake were served. Hostesses were Alicia Mad- den, Barbara Murphy, and Reba Brown. Tables were decorated with white cloths, red napkins, and centerpieces. Mantels held greenery and gold ornaments. Ornaments and tinsel decorated the Christmas tree.

Members brought donations for the Washington-Wilkes Animal Shelter as a part of their continued support of the Shelter.

Present were guests, Frances Cowart, Janice Vandiver, Holly Lunceford, Judy Coxwell, Dashia, Seth, and Hunter Cox; and members, Judy Anderson, Judy Boswell, Ruthie Clement, Laura Toburen, Carol Jackson, Reba Brown, Jennifer Hall, Jennifer McAvoy, Bunny Gunby, Paula Butts, Dean Mansfield, Wanda White, Diane Jordan, Gail Duggan, Marcia Delany, Alicia Madden, Barbara Murphy, Janice Scott, and Kathy Agan.
