Wheeler demonstrates techniques

Artist Larry Wheeler (left) describes some of his work in progress to (from left) Mary Burt, Peggy Barnett, Vivian Barnett, Anita Latimer, and Carolyn Reynolds at the OLLI meeting. Complete with easels, paint, brushes, palette, and such, Larry Wheeler set to work for about 20 avid observers at the Washington Affiliate, OLLI@UGA, session Monday, February 5, at the Episcopal Parish Hall. Noting he paints from photographs, he demonstrated many of his techniques and explained the composition of paints, choices of these, brushes, and color, and even his mood as he works, noting he has a great need for spontaneity. At the end of two hours of work and discussion, his painting began to take shape. Wheeler’s work has been featured in gallery exhibits from Saratoga, N.Y., to Charleston, S.C.
