Heard and Thornton receive Booker scholarship certificates

The recipients of the Reese J. Booker Scholarship certificates are Bobby Heard and Zhanai Du’Brey Thornton. Each certificate is valued at $500.

Bobby Heard is a 2018 graduate of Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School. He is attending Valdosta State University majoring in Computer Information Systems. He is a member of White Rock Missionary Baptist Church and is the son of Annie Heard and the late Andra Gamble, and the grandson of Estella Edwards of Rayle.

Zhanai Du’Brey Thornton is attending Middle Georgia State College in Macon and is majoring in Information Technology - Cyber Security. She is the daughter of Angel and Frank Thornton Jr. and is the granddaughter of Stella Louise Brown Thornton and Frank Thornton of Decatur.

Anyone who is interested in making a donation to the Reese J. Booker Scholarship, the Rosa Grant Warthen Fund, or both, should make checks payable to the desired scholarship fund and mail to, Clara Sutton, P.O. Box 261, Washington GA 30673.
