The revelation to John continues

By REV. FICKLEN GUIN
(Revelation 14:6-8)

We are told in verse six, “And I saw another angel in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.”

In this verse, we can see that God is not finished with His work on Earth. He is now choosing a different method to combat and destroy the devil, who is trying to destroy all of God’s creation on Earth.

Jesus is getting ready to leave Heaven and return to Earth with 144,000 witnesses and His chosen angel, to give mankind another chance to believe and accept Jesus Christ as God’s Saviour for mankind.

God’s angel comes, “Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgement is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water.” (verse 7)

Then we are told, “And there followed another angel, saying Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.” (verse 8)

We are not told exactly who this is, but it represents all those down through the ages of time on Earth, who have proclaimed ways of worship, that was contrary to God’s way of worship: as the creator of Earth and mankind, which points us toward Jesus, God’s only Begotten Son, the Saviour of mankind, who went to the Cross of Calvary, and died for all the sins of mankind.

The only way to Salvation for mankind was, is, and shall be Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

That was, is, and will always be God’s way for mankind to be cleansed, forgiven, and set free from his sins against God, who created him and gives to mankind life everlasting.

God has never given up on His creation of mankind in His image, back to the beginning of time in the Old Testament and mankind’s sinful ways as a chosen people of God.

In the New Testament days when God brought all of mankind together through Jesus, His Son, who came to Earth as the Saviour of Israel, and then went to the Cross and died for all mankind, the Gentile world, through His Holy Spirit, given to us through Jesus’ death and resurrection from the dead, by accepting and believing in Jesus as Saviour, through repentance of our sins against God, our creator. This has been, is, and will always be God’s pathway to Salvation for mankind. Jesus, God’s only Begotten Son is the way for mankind to be saved from his sins. But the devil, Satan, hates God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit of God and he spreads this hatred by seeking to cause mankind to sin against God as mankind lives his life on Earth as human beings.
