Another 10 grand aids hospital

Azalea Health’s CEO Baha Zeidan (second from left) presents a $10,000 check to Wills Memorial Hospital representing the company’s donation made through the Georgia Heart Tax Credit program that allows businesses and individuals to pay their state taxes to rural hospitals. Azalea Health vice president of Client Services Fahad Saleem was also on hand for the presentation which was accepted by Wills Memorial Hospital CEO Tracie Haughey (left) and Hospital Authority Vice Chairman Ray Hardy (right). Azalea Health is an Atlanta-based company that provides electronic medical records software to hospitals and doctors’ offices.

Year-to-date, 54 businesses and individuals have contributed $456,393 to Wills Memorial through the Georgia Heart Tax Credit. In 2018 this tax credit program provided WMH with $942,322 in unrestricted funds that were used to subsidize the cost of uncompensated care.

“This program has allowed us to keep our doors open to the community,” Haughey said. “We are asking those who pay Georgia state income tax to defer their taxes to the hospital in 2019 so that we can continue to keep health care and jobs in our community.”
